Seattle’s Rooftop Season Is Officially Open

Seattle’s Rooftop Season Is Officially Open

Rooftops, ranked by budget. Start from chill, end with fancy.

Seattle’s sun is finally showing up — and so are we.
If you’ve got even one warm-ish afternoon free, there’s no better place to spend it than a rooftop with a view and something cold in your hand.

We’ve sorted these spots from most affordable to most "I-just-got-a-promotion" — so whether you're rolling in, well, beer money or going full bougie, there's something for you.

Rooftop Brewing Company – Interbay

📍1220 W Nickerson St
💰 $ | No reservations needed

What’s the vibe?
Relaxed, local, dog-friendly, and full of flannel. It’s more of a big patio with views than a "rooftop" in the traditional sense, but it’s still raised, breezy, and way less crowded than places downtown.

Why it works:

Great selection of rotating house brews

You can bring your own food (pro tip: grab tacos from nearby El Camion)

Community tables = great for groups

Kid-friendly during the day

Who goes here?
Locals, brewery crawlers, and people who want sunshine without $20 cocktails.

Tip:
Come early on weekends — the picnic tables fill fast when the sun’s out.

Monsoon – Capitol Hill

📍615 19th Ave E
💰 $$ | Casual dining, hidden gem vibes

What’s the vibe?
Intimate, low-key, and kind of romantic. This Vietnamese restaurant is known for its upscale takes on traditional dishes — and the rooftop patio is a total surprise if you’ve only ever sat downstairs. Surrounded by leafy rooftops and neighborhood charm.

Best orders:

Shaking beef with watercress

Lemongrass tofu

Lychee martini if you’re feeling fancy

Who goes here?
Capitol Hill residents, couples avoiding the chaos of Pike/Pine, and people who want amazing food with their rooftop view.

Tip:
Not many tables up top, so come early or during weekday lunch.

The Mountaineering Club – U-District

📍4507 Brooklyn Ave NE | Graduate Hotel rooftop
💰 $$$ | Cocktails + comfort food with mountain views

What’s the vibe?
Charming, weird, and fun. This rooftop feels like part alpine lodge, part Wes Anderson film set. It’s got massive views facing both the Cascades and Olympics — rare in the city — and a solid food menu that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Menu highlights:

Giant s’mores platter you make yourself

Tater tot poutine

Build-your-own charcuterie board with actual “mountain snacks”

Who goes here?
UW grads, people visiting Seattle who don’t want tourist traps, and anyone looking for a more laid-back rooftop with legit views.

Tip:
Go on a clear evening — Mount Rainier pops HARD from here when the clouds cooperate.

Mbar – South Lake Union

📍400 Fairview Ave N
💰 $$$ | Full-service rooftop | Reservations recommended

What’s the vibe?
It’s stylish, busy, and yes — people here take photos of their drinks. But the 360° views make it one of the best rooftops in Seattle. You’re above SLU, facing the skyline and the lake, and the food is actually worth the price.

Go for:

The lamb burger + harissa fries combo

Rooftop dinner with views that deliver

Flexing just a little (it’s allowed)

Tip:
Book around 6:30 PM to catch golden hour with dinner.

Fog Room – Downtown

📍1610 2nd Ave (Charter Hotel)
💰 $$$$ | Fancy cocktails, high-rise lounge energy

What’s the vibe?
Full glam. Low lights, sharp outfits, and Puget Sound views from the 16th floor. It’s the kind of place where the bartenders use torches and no one blinks when you pay $22 for a drink.

Go for:

Impressing someone

Post-dinner cocktails

Watching the sunset over the Olympics like a movie scene

Pro tip:
Grab a seat by the fire pit and don’t skip the truffle fries. You earned them.

BONUS:

Your Friend’s Apartment Rooftop

📍Somewhere in South Lake Union
💰 Free (unless you bring snacks)

What’s the vibe?
Plastic chairs. String lights. One guy mans the grill. Someone else forgot the ice. It's perfect.

Go for:

Chill hangs without a 2-hour waitlist

BYO drinks, music, and mood

The kind of night that ends with “wow, we should do this more often”

Etiquette rules:
Clean up, don’t hog the aux, and always offer to bring something.
