6 Spring Spots That’ll Make You Want to Move to Seattle

6 Spring Spots That’ll Make You Want to Move to Seattle

UW Cherry Blossoms (University District)

They only bloom for a couple weeks in March or April—but wow, do they bring the crowds. The cherry blossoms at the University of Washington Quad are a local spring tradition. People bring cameras, picnics, coffee, and friends.

Living nearby means you get to enjoy it early in the morning before the tourists roll in.

Real estate note: The U-District is packed with rental potential, and areas just north (like Ravenna) have great house hack options.

Volunteer Park (Capitol Hill)

This is where Capitol Hill trades winter layers for sunglasses and iced lattes. The lawns fill up with people reading, lounging, or throwing a frisbee. The conservatory is open year-round, but it feels extra vibrant in spring.

It’s a calm oasis in one of Seattle’s most walkable, culture-rich neighborhoods.

Real estate note: Capitol Hill stays competitive year-round, especially for multifamily or condo buyers.

Washington Park Arboretum (Madison Valley)

This place explodes in spring. You’ll find blooming dogwoods, magnolias, cherry trees, and rhododendrons along peaceful walking trails. Great for a solo recharge or a slow Sunday stroll.

It’s one of the most beautiful and underrated green spaces in the city.

Real estate note: Madison Valley and Madrona have a residential feel with high-end homes and rental demand that surges in warmer months.

Fremont Sunday Market (Fremont)

It’s back. From April through fall, Fremont hosts one of Seattle’s best street markets—vintage finds, handmade goods, and more local food trucks than you can handle in one visit.

This market brings a mix of locals, creatives, and tourists every weekend.

Real estate note: Fremont is always in demand. Homes and rentals near the market benefit from foot traffic and community energy.

Ballard Locks & Botanical Garden

The Ballard Locks are always a solid weekend activity—but in spring, the surrounding botanical garden makes the visit extra relaxing. You can watch boats pass through the canal, spot seals, and wander through blooming trees and flowers.

It’s family-friendly, dog-friendly, and just far enough from the crowds.

Real estate note: Ballard’s mix of old charm and new development keeps values strong. House hackers love the duplex potential here.

Green Lake Loop

Green Lake (Mount Rainier) — The Mountaineers

Technically, Green Lake is a year-round favorite—but spring is when it shines. People dust off their running shoes, the paddleboarders come out, and the café patios fill up.

It’s one of Seattle’s most active (but peaceful) spots.

Real estate note: Duplexes and triplexes nearby are ideal for house hacking. Strong rental demand, great walkability.

Spring Isn’t Just a Season—It’s a Selling Point

When people picture Seattle, they usually think rain. But spring tells a different story—one full of parks, patios, and potential.

If you’re looking to buy, rent, or invest here, now’s the time to explore neighborhoods, check out open houses, and experience the city while it’s in bloom.
